FOOD QUALITY AND SAFETY LABORATORY
The Food Quality and Safety Laboratory was founded in 2006 and is located in the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, at USAMV Cluj-Napoca. It includes adequate infrastructure for key-domains of competence: 1. Foods chemical composition analysis 2. Food microbiology 3. Development and characterization of new food products

RESEARCH CENTRE OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND AGROFOOD BIOTECHNOLOGY
It is located in the Institute of Life Sciences, at USAMV Cluj-Napoca and includes 8 laboratories with adequate infrastructure for key-domains of competence:
1. Food metabolomics: metabolic profile and fingerprint of secondary metabolites from plants and food, authentication and traceability of food products.
2. Food biotechnology: products and bioprocesses assisted by enzymes and microorganisms.
3. Biorefining: valorification of active principles from agricultural and forest residues.
4. Technologies of microencapsulation with natural matrix for obtaining controlled release systems.
5. In vitro experimental systems (normal / tumour cell).

MOLECULAR NUTRITION AND PROTEOMICS RESEARCH LABORATORY
Molecular Nutrition and Proteomics Laboratory emphasis on excellence in translational laboratory research to explore gene-nutrient interactions, epigenetic pathways, metabolic pathways, and mechanisms by which dietary components modulate diseases (as nutritional intervention in prevention and therapeutic research), which provide the foundation of the field of Nutrition Science

LABORATORY OF FOOD PROCESS AND STRUCTURE ENGINEERING
The research focus of the Laboratory of Food Process and Structure Engineering is to understand, quantify and engineer the process-structure-property relations of all food systems. We aim to deliver fundamental knowledge and application concepts for academic and industrial partners involved in food processing.
